Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian who has been around for some time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. She has appeared on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, more popularly known by the stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984) is an Irish actress, writer and stand-up comic. Bea was first seen as a part-time actress in Irish or British TV programs in the year 2009, began her career as an stand-up comic in the year 2011. In 2012, she was frequently appearing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. Following her win in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began being booked frequently for various panel shows where she is now a regular. In 2016, and in 2017, she served as a team leader for 8 Out of 10 Cats. Also, she is a contestant of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The child was born to Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is the younger of her siblings. In 2012, she was the first woman ever to win the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Bea is her surname in honour of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh'Sullivan' was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. The father of Bea was Brian was a vet for horses that committed suicide aged three. However, she was not aware of the cause of her death until thirteen years later. In 2017, she published an article in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family. She also adopted her stage name Bea in tribute. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) was raised in a home by Helen Moloney who was a teacher and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. They were both passionate about racing, horses as well as the race industry. Bea started out as tourist guides at Irish National Stud. But she soon realized that her love was doing and not racing.
